Does anyone know whether or not there will be an MTM S4 chip developed expressly for the US spec version of the S4? If so, does anyone know when and where they will be available and how much they will cost? Also is there any reasonably reliable information available regarding the performance gains such a chip will bring for US spec S4s?
I had heard that Hoppen was going to be selling the MTM chips stateside, but then I heard a conflicting rumor that the Hoppen chip was really someone else's.
Any and all reliable information would be welcome. I really like the idea of the MTM chip, as I understand they have an "official" and "established" relationship with Audi in Germany.

Not intentionally, I was just trying to be concise. Perhaps I should have included a question mark? Still, I wouldn't say it's really misleading... or at least not so much so that it justifies a warning. I'm just trying to gather information.
Still, my apologies if you felt misled. Do you have anything constructive to contribute?

MTM has a chip for the US S4. It costs $795, and is available right now through Hoppen. I am getting one installed next weekend (getting the car back on 11/12/99) and will post a commentary on it.
As for specs, the link below has pricing, and a link to the dyno charts. NOTE: The "stock" graph on the dyno is from a euro S4 (see previous posts for lots of chat about this). The mod is supposed to boost hp to 305 and torque to 370 ft-lbs.
Apparently, you can buy MTM chips from Audi dealerships in Germany, but I doubt that will happen here, which is really unfortunate. I've never heard anything about the Hoppen chip beign anything but an MTM.
see ya,

I'd like to hear where this rumor came from about us not really selling an MTM chip. Anyway, check MTM's website under Importer, you'll see our name there, and if that isnt enough, give them a ring, guaranteed they will refer you to us.

I do not remember the post exactly, but it basically said that Hoppen's S4 chip was actually someone else's, not MTM's. There was also a subsequent post recently that indicated that Hoppen was not happy with MTM's chip for some reason, and was in the process of developing it's own.
I'm NOT trying to propagate any false rumors and I am NOT accusing anyone of lying or intentionally trying to deceive. I'm just trying to discover the truth of the matter because I am interested in the MTM S4 chip and upgrades.
