Default MTM Stg IV dyno plots

I finally got around to dynoing the kit today on Speedsport Technik's dynapack hub dyno. It's basically sea level here, and weather was approx 73 degrees and humid. Fuel was 93 octane pump gas. 2001.5 M box 6spd. I have dynoed the car here before - for reference it did peak 205hp with MTM catback alone, and 260 MTM catback and MTM stg II chip (both on 93 octane, plots are in my pic poster).

The car is an MTM stg IV set-up now, although not with their DPs. Power mods are:
K&N drop-in filter
RS4 K04s
Autospeed 3" dps
MTM 70mm catback
RS4 injectors
RS4 fuel pump

Here are the torque and hp plots. I did 6 pulls, color coded in descending order (red first, yellow last). The first four were done just with the fans. The last two (light blue and yellow) were done with intercooler misting.

As you can see, it's kind of a good news/bad news situation. Good news - peak power is very strong and it keeps pulling hard right up to redline, unlike MTM K03 programming. Bad news - I'm having some sort of major issue in the 4.5K to 5.5k rpm range, a problem that is noticeable on the street. Basically, in that range the car runs rich and occasionally misfires. After about 5k it's sweet again and pulls hard and smooth. No DTCs.

I had noticed on the street that the 4.5k-5k issues were exacerbated by heat, and that appears to be the case here, too. The first run and the two IC misted runs were least effected. After seeing this, my next mods will definitely be larger ICs and an IC mister.

The wavyness of the plots is because the boost is not stable - it peaked at 21-22psi pulls back and oscillates once again before finishing up at about 18psi at redline. You can see this on the boost guage as well during the dyno pulls. Stg II did this on the dyno, too. That said, I do not see the boost needle behave that way at WOT on the street - I'm not sure why I get this effect on the dyno.

Peak numbers, both on the final misted run, were 339.4 ft/lb at about 3700rpm and 335.2hp at 6850rpm. All the non-heat soak pulls (the first one and the misted ones) had peak torque over 325 and peak hp over 320.

If one assumes that the MTM catback would add 10hp (yielding 260 total), then the 205 observed hp suggests a 21% drivetrain loss. At 21% loss, 335hp calculates to 424hp at the crank. With a more conservative 18% correction, you get 408hp at the crank.

MTM advertises this kit at 380hp.

Default I'd settle for less peak torque, but more of it across the band

You refer to it as smooth, but it doesn't look like very smooth delivery (torque).

Nice! How does it perform in the real world, should give a Z06 a good run for its money. :-)

Default Could it be associated with the hiccup around 5K rpm maybe?(Edit)

I was *trying* to respond to Rob's comment about the torque but I'm retarded :-)

Default 'tard!

:-p

I thought this too ... but it still seems to drop off pretty damn fast *before* the 5k hiccup.

Default MTM is known for low end torque, no?

Do they all drop off like that (that would absolutely suck) ?

Default I've always wanted to know, how you get that software?

last I checked, Hoppen would only sell the chip
if you buy all the parts, including their DP's

so how come, so many people seem to be getting around that?
