My 10k RS4 clutch is starting to slip...
I've got around 10k on it, but feel as if the SAC might be wonkey. The pedal seems to release kind of high compared to my friend Steve's car. We both have the same aluminum flywheel. I'm wondering if I'm not getting the clamping force I should.
So now that I've got the car tuned pretty well, I'm experiencing some clutch slip at mid RPM under high boost (notably when I spike to 24-25 PSI). The slight jump in RPM is barely noticeable, as it seems the disc is heating rapidly and grabbing again. (It pulls all the way to 7k without any hint of slip once it grabs)
Hard and fast 1-2 and 2-3 gear changes don't exhibit any slip even dropping the clutch fast without completely lifting on each shift. It's only when the boost hits hard in already engaged higher gears like 3rd+.
I thought about maybe pulling the flywheel and machining the steps for a bit more clamping force, but then I thought how stupid I am, and that I should just buy a bling bling clutch. But then I realized how stupid that idea is as well, and that maybe having a "drivetrain fuse" is a good idea.
So, has anybody exploded a stock clutch disc with similar momentary slip/high torque circumstances? I'm more worried about getting stranded with an exploded clutch than I am having to limp around with a honeybaked glazed PP and flywheel.
I dont' really launch the car hard, and for the most part don't bang on the gearbox.
Any thoughts?

Same thing for me - I'm easy on the RS4 clutch with my Stage 3 and I got about 15K before it was
slipping bad in high gears. It's getting replaced with a Southbend clutch by my local wrench.

Well, 15k isn't so bad. I just don't want to have to do it in 2 months.
I have a spare RS4 clutch, and a 4 puck autospeed clutch as well.
I just don't have the time to deal with it, as usual.

I repeatedly glazed my RS4 clutch waaaay back when I had K16 'brids...
They were hitting about 24 in the midrange and the clutch just slipped and hung, kinda like a CVT. Anyhow, if the PP checks out, feramic disc is your poison.

How are the ceramics in terms of driveability? I'm also open to multiplate if it means better
engagement manners on the street. I've daily driven too many sintered iron clutches to jump back on the chatter bandwagon.
