Touch My Ass

Once in a while when its cold in the morning, my 2nd gear grinds before it goes in. Its not really like a grind but it does flutter and makes a clank noise before it goes in. This only happens when it is cold.

Any ideas?

it goes away once the tranny oil is warmed up, dealer has never been able to replicate it, so they don't know what is causing it...

My S is going in for the 30K service here in a few weeks. I am going to let the dealer keep it overnight and have them leave it outside. Hopefully, they'll be able to replicate the problem.

Mine has been getting progressively worse, I think. No matter what I do to baby the shifts when the car is cold, it 'grinds' into 2nd. I have even noticed that 3rd has done it twice.

Someone else here on the board posted a similar problem that was rectified with a new tranny fluid released by AoA. Unfortunately, my dealer cannot locate the new part number in its part listing anywhere.
