Default My boost is playing hide & seek with me again...

OK, after I got used of my "limp" mode with occasional "coming back to normal mode" for about 10 min due to the bad MAF sensor, my car surprised me today on the way from work. All the time my boost level was 10 psi! Also, the weather was cooler and it was raining.
Any thoughts why is it doing it? Also, I'm not quite understand the function of the MAF, since I can't consider myself technical at all

Thanks for any info!

Default Do you mean that your boost was always peaking at 10 psi? Next, let us know how it drives......

when it isn't wet outside. Do you have a new MAF in there right now? I'm wondering if it is being affected by the humidity. You haven't messed with your intake plumbing, have you? (particularly the intake inlets/outlets)

Default I just recently installed the boost gauge, so I don't know what psi I had before...

But since I installed it was occasionally switching to 10psi, but most of the time it had 5psi. I still have bad MAF, and my CE light is on. I don't know is due to the wet weather it started to have a normal boost or not. I'll see that when it won't rain. Next week my MAF will be replaced, so I will see if it's caused all this weird boost instability. Also, I didn't mess with any plumbing other than exhaust.

If you're not chipped, then the 10 psi peak is ok.

Default No, don't be sad, if you're just putzing around town, 5 is normal. If you .....

really get on it on the expressway. it better go up to 10 psi. Try dropping it into 3rd at 60 mph then flooring it, or just stay in 6th with the pedal down at above 60 mph, you should see even more than 10 psi ( I did with just an exhaust, hit about 13psi max when stock).
