Default how about just tying the top of the seat to the rear seatbelts...

make it more rigid, like jyoteen was saying, but only half way there... it might be good enough.

What are those 4 holes on the backside of the bar?

Default I'm sure you tried zooming into the picture, right?

I doubt you'll be able to score all the requirements, especially being able to see the speedometer, unless you get telemetry that feeds that signal on top of the video, which is available, but costly.

The only thing I can suggest is ponying up $150 for a lipstick camera, which will free you from every limitation you have in terms of video shaking and lack of visibility.

Countersunk screws for the wing nuts on the other side.

Default What's the purpose of this?

Does tightening the wing nuts tighten the grip on the headrest support rods?

Default Also, from the pic, it looks like the holes that the headrest posts...

feed through are not limiting the movement of the wood bracket (wood is softer as well). How about putting some sort of sleeve on top of the wood bracket that locks it into the very position of the bracket.

Right now, it looks like the headrest position limits the vertical creep, which I bet is also causing the vibration.

Basically, the wood bracket needs to "float" between the seat back top part and the bottom of the headrest and stay in between relying only on the headrest posts. The sleeves would essentially lock the vertical movement, and helping with the isolation further.

Default my guess

they just bracket the two bars together around the headrest, there are 4 just to bracket it evenly so they don't bend out...

Default Hey, but then he'd be giving away his secret of what makes his worth $100 more...

...I'm sure a little spray paint would go a long way on my product. Heck, I don't even know how well the speedmount would work under the same conditions I was encountering today; surely better, but how much?
