Acceleration feels normal until I hit 4000 rpm. At that point it feels like the car completely runs out of breath.
I'm in Boston and the humidity has been incredibly high over the last week or so. I tried a throttle adaptation and that didn't do anything.
Any ideas?

Yes, air density has a HUGE effect on the ability of the turbos to actually make the requested boost. Moisture DISPLACES air so even though it "feels" like the atmosphere is "dense", the AIR density is low and so there is just that much less air to compress and induct into your engine.

Can't beat cool, dry sea level air for spooling turbos!
...actually, the cool air is important to keep the engine at a moderate temp as higher than 'normal' temps can and will 'limp' the car.

Humidity / Air density
I would think it is the other way around making the denser air/fuel ratio increase. Thus, making a bigger volume for the charge to displace within the compression chamber.
For instance water injection. These systems don't add Air / O2, but pure volume with H2O.
Just my 2 cents,
