That was my first thought. Didn't fill up with the car running and the cap is on tight

Check the fuel evap line which travels up the left side of the spare wheel well.

Dealer tried the gas cap thing twice. Brought it in for an old fashioned "smoke check"...blowing smoke around seals of the gas tank and stem. Found a leak in the stem of the gas tank. Bad O ring at valve in the stem. Dealer asked Audi tech what to do. They said there is no seperate replacement for that O ring. Replace the whole gas tank. That's when my real horror story started. Long story short...need to drop the rear axle and disassemble the drive shaft center bearing. They didn't mark the drive shaft and just put it together. Drive shaft shuddered de-cellerating through 40mph. They said the car is operating to spec and I was hearing/feeling things. Finally got it fixed right after I sent a letter to Audi Customer Relations stating I was filing suit under the lemon law. New drive shaft fedexed from Germany that same day. Car fixed the next. Extended my warranty to 5yrs/62,000 mi. It took seven months though!!! An experience I would'nt wish on anyone. Shouting matches got so loud they called the cops on me one night just before Christmas! Good Luck!
