Default my first problem with my s4! dreaded MIL light aka check engine?

came on this morning and it stayed on for my short 20 min. commute into work. i shut it off couple of times and turned it back on, same results.
i hope i can get together with an S4'er today and see what comes out of it with the vag-com tool.
i looked up in the manual and it said, MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP, at first i was like , ok no biggie, so my turn signals are down, DOOOOH! stupid assumption i know..

1st check that your gas cap is tight - that was what caused mine.

No, sometimes it takes a few days before the check engine light goes on from the gas cap. It happened to me twice. One time, the gas station guy only turned the cap 2 clicks. My light went on 3 days later. And when I brought it in for service they charged me for the labor to run a diagnostic b/c it turns out there was no problem with the car, it was the gas cap.

That's the problem. I don't think it will go out itself. Audi will have to shut it off. Call before you go to a dealer and make sure they won't charge you to do it.
