Default My Homelink system won't learn my garagedoor code!

I *think* I'm doing it right. Hold button 1&3 simultaneously until the light flashes (to clear any learned codes). Then hold the garagedoor remote at most two inches away from the Homelink transmitter. Press and hold the Homelink button designated simultaneously w/ the garagedoor remote. The light should flash slow, then rapidly.
All of this is happening correctly, but after I try the button, the damn thing doesn't work! Do I have to do the procedure more than once? Thanks in advance. (I know, I know...lame question, sorry!)

Default Does your garage door have rolling code?

If it does, you need to get someone to press the "learn" button on the opener console, then hit the "1" button once really quickly, and then again. That should work.

Default I had trouble teaching mine too, but eventually it seemed to work

it seemed to take several tries, only thing I can think of is that the receiver on the visor-unit is very very finicky on how/where you aim the handheld transmitter? (doesn't really make sense due to proximity)

after successfully resetting it, when trying to set the button, either it often wouldn't seem to take the code at all (LED wouldn't ever change from slow to fast blink) - or, it would seem to take a very long time of holding the buttons down before the fast blink started, indicating the programming worked

anyhow, took many tries but finally got it programmed, but I had to be persistent.

Default Check you opener. Does it has a reset button on it?

I'll check mine tonight to see what the button was labeled or called. All I had to do was press the button and presto the homelink was able to work the door. I did the same thing you did, kept hitting the buttons, and swearing that I was doing it right, but the door didnt budge.

Default It might be how close you are to your garage. Mine only works when i'm in my garage which makes it

pretty much useless :/

anyone else have this problem?

Default Simply follow the procedure in the manual for rolling code.

If it works then you're set, right? If it doesn't, well, you haven't lost anything. It would of course help to share the brand/model of your garage door opener so folks can share their experiences with the same unit.

Default you might want to extend/fix your garage door opener antenna- it must be all bunched up or you

you may be located in an area with a high amount of interference.
