My Homelink system won't learn my garagedoor code!

My saleswoman did it for me and it took forever for it
to figure out the right code but eventually it did following
the procedure you outline. She did comment that she had
one customer who it simply would not code. Something about
having a unit (analog?) that was too old. She was concerned
when she saw my remote since it clearly was from an old unit.
That said the old remote has a much greater range (250')
than the homelink (75').
Good Luck

I was going to also add my remote is fairly old too, probably >15yrs old. perhaps there is a correlation with age of unit /technology used and difficulty to program.
I would also say that the range of my handheld transmitter seems to be much better than the homelink one, so again perhaps there is some correlation? e.g. old unit signal too strong from close-up when programming??
I wonder if trying to hold the remote much farther away than the recommended 2inches would have any difference in success rate?
