Default My **** has issues...

I just installed this back-lit shift **** and it looks pretty good imho. The problem lies in the wire job I am trying to do. I have it wired to the cigarette lighter because it always seemed to come on when the headlights were turned on. I also heard that other people have wired it here. Problem is is this: the **** won't turn off! It stays lit at all times and (though it looks cool) it will drain the battery (PC680). If I wire it up red+brown I get shift **** only. If I wire it up red+grey I get ****+lighter+heated seats lighting up only. Keep in mind this is with no key, headlights off and doors closed. What the heck am I doing to cause the **** to stay on?

The outlet is always powered. I would guess the illumination is separate.

That typically occurs with a lack of use.

use the wires from the vents. might be a little extra work but it will work.
