I have been waiting to post this up for the last 3 months but wanted to fix the problem before doing so. (I could see it being read as ASP KILLED MY CAR!) During the Christmas sale at ASP I ordered the tru-duel cat-back and stage 2 software. I installed a new TBB, 710n's and an APR boost gauge at the same time. As soon as I took the car out for a spin, I was in limp mode. I think I felt this with the car in stock form but being new, I couldn't be sure. It was sort of funny that first night I had everything installed because I was driving in the rain south on the Taconic (spell) state parkway and went to pass a type r integra doing 30mph (b/c his single wiper conversion was stupid). Just as I go to pass him, the car came out of limp lol Stage 2 is stage two, i know, But the surprise and my bud pointing to the boost gauge was very funny. At first the limp was erratic, always kicking in when I was trying to show the car to someone and once when a blond in a c230 kompressor thought she was hot stuffon rt. 9 (she was actually) I called ASP and mark stayed on the phone for 45mins going through my code line by line looking for issues. He suggested I do a boost leak, none. I went on here and posted and had a temp sensor suggested, which i changed. Each time I called asp, mark or frank asked me to bring the car in so they could check it out and never tried to get me off the phone even though they already had my money. Each time mark said if it was a problem on their end they would fix it for free and quickly. I finally wised up and VAG'd the car and found that it was the driverside EGT. Took me a while with my schedule, but I swapped it out and bam, constant ASP stage 2 goodness.
One thing to remember with these guys is they are always busy. I look at that as a good thing because having worked at a (much smaller) tuner shop myself; down time means you're doing something wrong. I put a lot of thought into who I was choosing for my stage 2 set-up because I didn't want to change companies for stage 3. After seeing the effort they put in to my 1300 some odd dollar purchase, it's a no brainier that I'll be going with them for stage three next month.
So thanks to the guys at ASP for their help, thanks to everyone who helped me on AW with my car (except the STFA posters, thats all they do)
FTW, I figured with all the bad posts made about the tuners, I could post a good one.
