Old School!! Love it! Makes me want to get the old VW/Porsche magazines down from the attic!

Default Is that a guy who runs VARA?

We were at a VARA race and they had, what essentiall was, a Porsche class.

I said "watch, the most stock looking 914 will win this race" and sure enough, a beautiful orange 914-6 clobbered everyone and nearly beat a Lola sports racer (which was obviously being driven pretty timidly but still!).

Default It didn't survive. --->

Because it was originally Erwin Kremer's Le Mans winning car, the guy who bought it from me converted it back to its original 914-6 GT configuration. He now runs it in vintage races in California.

Default Shame to see such a unique piece of engineering go to waste.

It had to be way ahead of its time for anything that was home built.

Default Yeah, made me cry to see it disappear. --->

Was a lot of fun, though, particularly running away from A S/R Cobras and Corvettes.

Default mmmmm...there is nothing like the sound of dual down drafts- - ->

had them on my Alpha...side drafts actually. Ran them with velocity stacks and screens and it was absolute music to my ears! That's when I stopped listening to the radio in the car...Very nice my friend!
