Default are my turbos dying?

drove out today...turbos sound like they always do when car is cold...i get that whoooosh sound...but today, it seems louder and higher pitched.

now, i also remember reading that basically "if you blow a turbo, you'll know"...so i'm guessing actually blowing one results in smoke, LOUD noise, etc.

so...does my noise mean anything, or is it just the warm-day-windows-down bug?

Default if they are, you'll see a lot of blue smoke. when a

turbo dies, it means that the seals are gone and oil is leaking in.

They are fine. When they blow you will know. You will lose all your power.

Default actually - a good way to see if your turbos are on their way

is to pull an IC line and check for oil. _some_ is normal (not good, but normal), but the more you have in there, the worse off the seals are...

Default To get to an IC hose you can pull out either headlight and you will see the hose.

it connects the intake pipe to the IC. Its kind of S shaped.

Default That is kind of hard to quantify since it could've been a long time

since you've cleaned the intake pipes, or if you're chipped, you get much more blowby. The best way to check is get it up on a lift and put a long metal screwdriver on the turbine housing and listen for a grinding/scraping noise, similar to how a bearing going bad would sound.
