My uper collar on one of my coilovers won't budge, I soaked it with penetrating oil

Default My uper collar on one of my coilovers won't budge, I soaked it with penetrating oil

and this still didn't help. Do any of you guys have some ideas on what I should try next? Can I heat it up with a small propane torch or is this a bad idea.

Default Don't heat it!

Some shocks are under enourmous pressures already. Heating them up could cause them to burst.

The best method is to remove them from the car, and try adjusting them on the bench. Soak liberally with penetrating oil, and make sure you don't have any rocks or debris visible in the grooves.

Default The spring end probably dug into the perch a bit...

Try inserting a screw driver between the spring and perch and gently prying while trying to turn the perch.
