I need my windshield replaced. Would you guys recommend going with an Original part windshield or through a glass company that I guess puts in their own glass. They said that the manufacturing is the same..it just wont have the rings on the corner. In addition, the guy told me that Audi S4's usually come with a window sun tint. He mentioned GREY or GREEN tint on the top. I dont think I have any, but some help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Is our Antenna located in the windshield?
2. Whats up with the Tint...I didnt notice any on my car.

Antenna is in back. Dealer told me all new Audi screens have green at top, not grey.

Actually it is more blue than green I think. (About $550 installed BTW).

AoA will tell you the A4 glass is the same, it's not. Be warned, AoA database is incorrect !

If you are replacing your S4 windshield, and you have the auto-dim mirrors, be careful.

I went thru 3 panes of glass before Audi finally got it correctly. I callled multiple dealers myself for the part number...and they consistantly told me that it was the same as the A4. But the glass didn't fit properly. The middle visor wouldn't open because the button (built into the glass) was 1/2 inch too low.

To get the correct part number, Call Executive Glass in Allston, MA and ask for Don. And tell him I sent you (mention my silver S4) and he'll remember.

BTW, it cost the insurance company $1100 but it's FREE in MASS...my poor insurance company...they've lost money on me this year. Nevermind; sympathy has passed -)

No, the mirrors - if you have the "premium package"
