n00b question re boost guage

Look at the two words together... First you have "Boost" and second you have "gauge". What do you use gauges for? To measure, right? And what kind of gauge is it? A BOOST GAUGE -- TO MEASURE BOOST!!!
Usually in PSI or BAR.

The guage will show the boost (and perhaps vacuum) pressure in the intake manifold. Postive pressure (boost) will only occur when the engine is under strong load, as during acceleration.
The main uses would be to verify all is working OK, the boost matching prior reading indicates nothing is failing. Also used to impress passengers!
