Hey guys, Nice to be here,(nice to be any where!),
I am looking to get blue paint as on the S4.
I dont have an S4(or other audi, but My cars are in the family![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I want to paint one of them S4 Nagaro blue pearl.
But the paint that i get does not look like the paint in the pictures.
Whats up with that?
I already had the painter send back one batch of paint cause it was the wrong color.
See this car/color?:

THATS THE COLOR I WANT.
I went to the dealer picked up a few S4 brochures with paint samples(and by the way the paint sample in the brochures isnt pearl!)
there happened to be a customers nargo S4 there and i went and looked at it(but it was in the shade) and it didnt look like the pic i just listed. I mean even the paint sample in the book looked way darker(but not the sanotrin(?))
So I then go to the paint distributor, give them the paint code the dealer gave me and again the paint i get looks alot darker. Almost royal blue.
We test sprayed a sample and it didnt look any lighter.
The painter is now looking at me like im nuts, as i have showed him pictures and an actually nagaro S4 (there used to be one down the street from him) and the paint we sprayed doesnt look like them.
So can any one tell me what to do to make sure my new paint job turns out like the paint on the S4 I the picture.
Has any one been in an accident and had to have something painted? if so what color code did you use and did it match?
We are using a PPG "platinum" paint source.
Oh by the way were going to paint the car in the next 2-3 days so i need help quick! this is making me nuts(more anyway)
Please E-mail me: Ciapu94@aol.com
also are there any other resources i can check with?
Thanks
Mike

Audi uses a white or at least very light gray primer based upon the paint damage received on my 2 Audis (black and green).
The darker result may be from painting onto a dark primer. Have your guy spray a test onto a white base.
Furthermore, the Nogaro will look different shades depending upon how the light hits it.
You can never depend on matching your paint to a photo. That's just impossible.

Are you sure you have the right one? Nogaro does look different depending on the light... below are three pictures of the same car (mine) under different light conditions. Also as Toy_Guy mentioned, Audi uses a black primer and then a white primer and then the paint, so this could affect the way the color appears.
