Default Navigation Help

My wife was nice enough to help me lose my navigation manual and I was trying to load up the cd-rom and the display repeatedly told me to check the cd. Is there something I need to know can anyone help. My new manual probably won't arrive for another week.

Fortunately, no. They are far too complex for Windows.

You probably got a faulty CD. Its pretty much plug and play. Does the old disk work?

Default Had the same problem here's what to do...

If your trying to use a new CD it might be bad, I got a bad one, so go back to one that you know works. If that dosn't help then you need to "reset" the nav system, the way you do that is remove the CD and then remove the fuse for the nav system and wait for like 10 min. Not sure why it takes soo long but it does. Then put your CD in and try to start the nav. If the CD is good then everything should work. If you get the "Check CD-ROM" message then start all over with another disk.

Good Luck

Default Had the same problem, MOWOG's solution didn't work for me, here's what did...

I have an 02 S4, but apparently (message relayed thru 3 people before it reached me so take it for what you will) the 02 S4s need 01 format CDs. This, of course, implies that the other 02 Audis require a different CD format.

I tried the 'disconnect power to the Nav unit' fix and that didn't work for me, although apparently it has worked for others.

I ended up giving the CDs back to the dealer, who was nice enough to get them for me to begin with, and AoA sent me the correct set via FedEx within a week of me talking to the AoA Customer Relations person.

So if the power disconnect doesn't work you may need a different set of CDs. And the manual doesn't have ANY troubleshooting info in it at all.

Email me if you have any other questions I might be able to help with.

02 S4, no longer in wilmington, yes i'll update my sig soon.
