NE1 with PPG windshield out there?
Recently lost my 3rd on this S4 and requested PPG as a replacement. PPG was installed and is maybe 1/4" to 3/8" shorter than the Audi unit, measured down the enter - top2bottom. This allows extra adjustment when installing which is both good and bad depending on the installer. The trim at the top(black rubber/aluiminum c clip on top of the seal that runs from edge to edge) does not mate correctly since the glass was installed with the lower portion resting(correctly) on the stops at the base of the windshield.
Just spent some additional time with my installer regarding this in which he has offered to replace it with Audi or other glass - for the lifetime of the car. The seal is fine, just looks a little odd to see the leading edge of the roof now.
Wanted to see if others had similar experiences. The PPG "seems" a little heavier/thicker but my installer says both are built to the same specifications for the US. The german stock glass does seem lesser in quality though, having maybe 11 windshields(that I can count total DE cars) in the past 9-10 years.

hmm, grey tint version right?
Mines not perfect, but I atribute that more to the guy being a hamfist than the glass not being right..
Check to archives and make sure it's the right part number.

i noticed some discrepancy in the rubber seal that runs along the top of the windshield, right in the corner as shown in the pic. the "A4 in the parking lot" is what OEM looks like....
As i said, I have the PPG glass, and I am not noticing the same "problem" you seem you be having.

I have on on my S4. It seems that it is not curved exactly the same as the OEM windshield (more)
I purchased the car not knowing that it had an aftermarket windshield. Had a squeaking noise coming from the instrument panel, so I removed it entirely (yes, the whole thing)to find out the the sound was coming from the windshield rubbing on the instrument panel, right at the centre.
Upon closer inspection, I found that it didn't look as curved as my A4 windshield. The cowl trim, covering the wiper mechanism, does not sit against the windshield, but instead has about a 3/16" gap.
This may be an isolated case, but I have read of others experiencing instrument panel noises after replacing the windshield.
