Default need advice on piggie pipe install ( o2 relocation question )

I'm in the middle of my piggie pipe install. Stockers are out and the others are almost ready to go in. I bought piggies (used) from the classifieds and after further inspection i noticed the first o2 bungs have been welded closed, two more bungs welded in added after the main cats. No big deal I have a couple options.... I think.

option 1: Drill and re-weld new o2 bungs beside the primary's and plug the second.

option 2: Extend the primary o2 sensors to fit the secondary o2 location. stretch the secondary o2's to the new bungs after the main cats.

thanks for the help...

BTW-- those heatshields looked like crushed aluminum cans when i got them out!

Default advise inside...

i DIYed my piggie pipes, granted on my A6 but still probably very similar experience. i can only speak for the A6 but im pretty sure the DP's are pretty similar in shape so it should be ok for both. i just cut ALL of the zip ties holding the 02 sensor wires to the tranny and i had PLENTY of extra length to make it past the main cats. i think you can use the stock O2's without any problems. also, once you remove the pre-cat there is a lot less heat build up because the is no more obstruction in the way of the exhaust gas, so the heat shields are not necessary as long as you route the O2 wires far enought away from the pipe. good luck
