Default need help with bent wheel!! I found out that the hole in the road from last night bent my wheel. How

should I go about trying to get reimbursed for the cost to fix/replace it??

Obviously, I have to get pictures of the "seam" going across the road, and the general area with no warning signs. Also pics of my wheel.

Then what? Get a police report?

Default police report is not necessary. Get all the pics, estimate of wheel repair/replacement and submit to

the municipality responsible.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - good luck

Default you can try for an insurance claim through the local town - but it's up

to you to prove that it's their negligence, and it's been there a while.

File a claim and give it a try.

insurance claim is not a good idea. Ins co will consider it "collision" and his premium will go up

Default it's the towns insurance company - liability, not your insurance

at least that was my experience.

Default better go there and take pictures of the hole. Problem is, I think they have some time to fix it...

once a person reports it. As such, they might be able to claim that it was never reported, etc. Good luck.

Default That sucks Steve, sorry to hear it. I can't advise you, but if you need to get the wheel fixed...

...try Wheel Collision just over the border in PA. I've had four or five wheels fixed there and they do a good job. Not super cheap (depends on the extent of damage), but if it's just bent on the inside of the wheel and there's no cosmetic damage then it's not as expensive of course. You can call them for an estimate over the phone I think or take it there so they can have a better look.

http://www.wheelcollision.com/</a
