I used a pair of vice grips. Worked like a charm.

Default Are you trying to get the black thingy out or the blue one in the foreground?

The black one with the 4 prongs is the temp sensor and should just come right out with the c-clip pulled off. The sensor in the foreground is very hard to get out.

Yeah, my vice grips weren't wide enough so it was tough.

Default oh crap.... i just did this but i dont remember getting out the o-ring out. i did put the new sensor

in with a new o-ring (ecs part). is this possible? there was a splash of coolant so maybe the old o-ring just fell out.... i dont know. would it be possible to have 2 o-rings in there?

Don't see a blue one?!

The sensor in the background is the coolant temp sensor correct? So the first step is to disconnect the wire harness correct? Then pull/pry the actual sensor out?

I'm a tad bit confused.

Default I think it would be extremely hard to stuff two O-rings in there. I didn't take mine out

and there was no way in hell to get a new one in until I removed the old one.

Default Yea, you got it right. It's a pain to get it to budge, but try twisting etc. I used needle nose

pliers to get it out.

Default I think ZephyrS4 means the out of focus/over exposed sensor that is partly obscuring the

4-pin temperature sensor behind it.

Default Well it kinda has a light bluish hue to it. I just changed my CTS 2 days ago

and once I got the c-clip off it just came out with no effort/wiggling at all. I don't know why yours would be stuck unless you didn't pull off the c-clip first. I waited until I had the sensor out to unplug the harness.
