Default need help on V1 installation....to fuse box...

how do u have the wire go along (or is it actually INSIDE of) the A-piller?

And, how do you guys secure the wire to the fuse box inside? Seems like the red wire may come off and disconnect if I mistakenly pull on the wire from outside?!

Got diagram with step-by-step instruction??

oh, 1 more thing..how to take off that A-piller?

Default easy...

you don't do anything drastic. Run the cord across that seam at the top of the A-pillar (between it and the headliner) then across to the RUBBER STRIP that acts as a seal for the door jamb. You can run the cord UNDER this rubber seal then have it come out next to the fuse panel and into the fuse box. The fuse spade does pretty much just stick into the fuse slot and I zip-tied the cordage to keep it from flopping around.

Default thanx so much

I was thinking that "isn't the airbag inside??"
and "I have to put it next to the airbag??"
LOL

And, do you tape it the part of wire that goes from A-piller to the V1 unit? or how do you keep the in place?

Default I simply...

tucked the wire up into the head-liner. Some guys use a dab of Silicon but I never had a problem. If you want to get REALLY tricky, you can pull the plastic cover off the rearview mirror support and run the wire under it and cut a hole in the plastic piece for the wire to come out from the rearview mirror support and then its concealed behind the mirror and you mount the detector to the left (or right) of the mirror.

Default Take off the "airbag" cover with little flat screw driver...then...

the cover should be connect to the a-pillar... dont pull it off..
use T-25 to take off the bolt inside the cover...
Don't miss it...

after that, you can pull the a-pillar out by pulling it to the passenger side first, then to the end of the car...that's all.. there are two clip secure the a-pillar...

Default Here is a great tech article with remote display install...

And on a side note, he uses as really nice "Piggy-Back" Fuse that I could not find anywhere. I went to 3 auto supply stores and none of them knew what I was talking about. Then one day walking around Kmart, I went by the automotive section and there it was. So just in case you can't find the "Piggy-Back" fuse anywhere else, Kmart might have it. It makes for a very clean install.
