Default Need to run wire from CD changer area to head unit. Suggestions?

I'm sure that I can just start ripping into this and hopefully follow the cables that are there. But first, does anyone have some help?

Default why? I ran an 8awg power cable from the battery to the trunk on the driver's side. I just pushed it

up into the plastic by the doors (can't thin of the name). Then under the rear seat in the that area you're talking about. Not hard at all.

Do you not have the stock cable there?

Default GPS antenna wire for NAV+. It's been dangling for months now.

If you can get an 8 guage wire through there, this little RG-174 will be a cinch. I've just been too occupied with other stuff to do it (mostly playing with the nav+).

Default How much wire?

Easy: go under the back seat, tuck it under the doorsill trim on the passenger side. Undo a couple screws to get under the kick panel, then pop the glovebox catch and go behind it.

Less easy: Under back seat, under the carpet straight up the tunnel. You may have to loosen som seat rail trim, take off the armrest, e-brake handle, shifter trim, etc. Depends on how crafty you are.

Default Nav+ is the greatest play toy!.....

I just love playing with this thing. And there are some nice changes with the latest system software like a full-screen compass (who needs a tiny one on the rear view mirror). The new 2002 disks add details on lots of cities that were missed before.

I did a lot of research and did the installation myself. The TV function should not be too bad to add, but there are lots of parts (tuner, antennas, antenna amplifiers, cables). But I won't add it because I just don't think it would be my thing to watch TV in the car. Adding any other video source like DVD or VCR is easy with a cheap adapter.

Default One thin wire. Same on driver's side? (more)

Can I do the same on the driver's side? I think my wire will start on that side at the back.

Also how do I go "under the back seat"?

Am I making too much of this and it's actually really, really easy? Can't be harder than all the disassembly I did to get all the CD changer bolts in when I installed that, can it? I just have to fire up the furnace in the garage to keep warm this time.

Default It's a bit more involved, but still pretty easy.

You'll have to remove the panel under the steering wheel. It's been awhile, but I think you need to remove the fuse panel cover at the left end of the dash, and a couple of cosmetic covers just below the beltline trim to get at the bolts. There's plenty of room down there to run the wire. One thing, the driver's side kick panel may be tougher to get off because of the hood release cable being there.

The rear seat is easy, just pull up on the front edge of the cushion.

OK. I did panel under steering wheel once when I installed my boost gauge.
