Default Need some audio help. I want to replace my (long)

stock speakes and amp to aftermarket. I'm keeping the OEM head unit for now. I've searched and found a bit of info but need more help. I want to repalce the fronts with MB Quart seperates and the rears with coaxials. Can anyone suggest a good sub? I have an Avant and would like to know are the speakers the same size as a sedans, minus the sub. What type of amp will I need to power all speakers? Do I need a seperate amp for the sub?

Default

you could get a 5 channel amp (4 corners + sub) or 2 amps (1 for the sub)

Default here's what i did......

i got a 5 channel kenwood amp (kacx650d), has 80 watts per corner, and 300 for the sub.. you power it with 4 awg write. if the avant has the same front doors as the sedan, then they might do a little cutting to fit in 5" speakers, tough to watch and swallow but well worth it for the sound, i skipped the rear doors and replaced the speakers on my rear deck. i dont know where your rear speakers are in the avant. i have boston acoutics for my corners and a JL audio sub. sounds great after u have the system tuned after u break in the speakers for a week or 2. good luck

Default hidden equalizer settings in the s4

depends how deep you want to go into the sound system....i was considering doing the same until i ran into this post and i tried it and it provides quite a bit of base...and high end...the s4 has a hidden eq settings....they do work great...it allows you to run all the treble out of the back to the front....and run all the bass to the rear...really cleans up the sound...just a thought.....it was posted by lcp on 3-28-2001 it will walk you thru it...ill also leave it here...sorry i dont know how to post a link....
