....purchased a set of Euro Xenon housings (at least I think they are) from Wagonboy. Arrived today but I'm starting to think they aren't correct.
They are Euro projector lights, and they do have a square recess on the bottom where I believe the Xenon ballast goes. But, I don't see any "gapping hole" in the bottom like I've read about in the archives. I think there should be a hole beneath where the ballast resides....correct?
These housings have no hole in that area :-(
Any way to make these work? Possibly cutting out some of the housing plastic beneath the ballast?
Does anyone have a photo of the bottom of their Euro Xenon housing prior to the installation?

The hole has recessed screw attachment points.
I would wonder what other differences there is between the housings such as beam pattern and lense optics.
An HID unit is a different beast from a standard projector light.
If the hole is there but not cut out it might be possible to retrofit the housings to HID.
Sorry no pics as I am on my way out of town.
If it helps you in any way I would be willing to take pics next week and send them along.

there should be a hole on the bottom for the square metal cover that is held in place by torx screws.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext30.shtml</a

...with the ballast removed. The lights I have do have a recessed location for the ballast.
Here's the photo of the ballast installed in the S4 housing (photo from Tech article):

Looking at the bottom of my new housings, I see the location where this ballast would attach.
What is worrying me though is this (another photo from Tech article):

....this photo is the underside of the ballast after it was removed from the stock headlights. Notice the black electrical connection running off the bottom of the ballast. I don't see how I'm supposed to get that cable through into the inside of the new housing as these housings do not have a cut-out in the plastic to run that cable through.

....but is it solid plastic inside of this depression? Or is there a hole that goes into the inside of the housing?

....within that rectangular depression I *think* there is supposed to be a hole or cut-out to allow the ballast connectors to pass into the interior of the housing.....correct?
Anyone, anyone....Bueller?
