need some pointers on launching...
raced ight to light the other day, dropped the clutch from like 5000 and the car just stood there and then preceeded to accelerate. A very unpleasent smell accompanied this unusual happening.
what happedned?
clutch?
is the smell of tires or clutch?
thanks in advance

try blipping between 3500-4500 rpms and sidestep DO NOT DROP the clutch.....
sidesteping is bringing the clutch pedal up to right bellow the engage point and then "SIDESTEPING" it. My shift points are around 5600 RPM's.

I tried to word it so you would take Side Steping in a literal sense.......
In effect your putting less stress on the clutch disc. By releasing the clutch teeth closer to the clutch plate your making sure to give it the most possible chance of catching and not slipping. The sidestepping in just like droping it, your just closer to the engage point. In reality bring the pedal up to the engage point and then drop it ok. . Oh and obviously what not to do would be dropping the clutch as it is fully depressed. I hope this was a better explanation.

Don't drop the clutch? I guess you're right, this is what happens when you drop the clutch...
...you win!
