Default Need some suggestions on driver's side trans mount installation...

I got the passenger side replaced just fine. However, the heat sheild and that bracket on the driver's side are keeping me from even being able to remove the original bolt that comes down from the top center of the mount. I can get a wrench on it and break it lose, but even after moving the heat shield out of the way as much as possible, there's still no room for the bolt to come all the way up and out. And that stock bolt is much shorter than the bolt that came with the 034 street density that is going in.

Does that bracket need to come out to do it, or can it be done otherwise? I'm really struggling and could use some tips/pointers.

TIA for any help. I gave up for today, so now I'm running on old stock and one new 034...lol.

Default put a jack under the trans and push it up /...easy !

push that heat shield up all the way , it's useless anyway ..don't be afraid ! push with a long screwdriver above where the bolt is.

Default ok, I'll give that a shot...

I'll just hack the hell out of the heatshield

I had a jack under the trans when I did the passenger side, but only to keep it in place when I took the mount out. How much can I push up on the trans?

Default u can raise it 1/2-1" no problem .. but u only need 1/2" or less to release the mount
