Neuspeed Bilstein shocks w/stock S4 springs
Anyone running these? I hear they may lower ride height by a little, which is all I'm looking for. If anyone has info, please post: ride height, handling, etc. TIA

why dont u just put some nice springs on while your shocks are being put on??
stock springs have a certain spring rate per the the shocks/struts that is on a car i.e Weight of the car, then loads which are now put on the car with performance shocks but still have the stock springs which were made to work with the stock shocks. your S will handle better and look better if u just put the springs on while your doing the shocks too, the springs have to come off anyways.

Because:
1. I'm in Cleveland, where potholes are hell
2. I'f I'm gonna do springs, I'll want coilovers, which are expensive
3. Since I'm getting old (31) and I've already done the spring/shock setup on my old car, I don't need the car to handle better.
However, I don't want the car to handle worse -- if there's a risk it will with different shocks, I won't do anything at all. I do feel I need to bring the ride height down before getting 18" wheels. Big wheels on stock suspension never quite looks right.

hey im 34..im not old...hehehe, yeah i know what u mean, i used to live in chicago...
it would be better to have performance shocks and stock springs then the other way around. there is a Blistein shock that is shorter just for that purpose that u can use with your S4, im not sure on the correct info but i think some S4 owners have done it here....

Why go with 18" wheels? I went with 235/45-17 Pole-3 /17x8 AT Rivas if your ..
concerned with potholes ( live in Rhode Island, drive in Boston, know what you mean..) At first I hated the extra sidewall but see a difference on bumps. I have to lower/stiffen up the body, and will try the Intrax/Koni or Bilstein only too on my Avant.
I just ordered Bilstein HD shocks only for my '93 NSX. I figured, you can lower them 7/8" on the lower perch, everyone on NSXprime says it fine w/ stock springs for the NSX, I might go with shocks only.
Another reason is the S4Avant is a 39 mon.lease and already bought installed:
--> Neuspeed exhaust,sway bar,GIAC chip,Bailey valves,Riva/pole-03s for summer / stock avus/Dunlop Wintersport 2s for winter use.
I'd go with the "sport" shock version rather than the "HD", I real sure it's avail on the S4models.
I'm 49, addicted to modifying my cars. My NSX is my true "baby". Good Luck!
