After several months of field testing and fine tuning, the new GIAC software for our 6 speed RSK04 kit has been released.
The details:
Specific code is now available for people running test pipes instead of cats. Test pipe users were experiencing throttle cut in some gears due to the way the actual boost outpaced the programmed requested boost. While we do not condone the use of test pipes on the street, and you will still get a fault code and check engine light from having no cats, the drivability issue has been addressed. The code for cars running cats has also been massaged to account for the multitude of flow variations seen with all the different exhaust combos out there.
Specific code is also now available for S4 owners wishing to run 100% pure race fuel. This means draining the tank of all pump fuel before pumping in race fuel. Race fuel must be 100 octane or higher. The older race file was too aggressive for blended fuel in the tank, which resulted in some people experiencing slower performance when running the race file vs pump. If you do not wish to run 100% pure race fuel, there is a blended fuel file now available, which we believe most clients will want to run. You will give up 20-30hp vs the 100% race fuel file, but you will not have to go through the effort of draining your tank each time. These two files are not available together, so you must decide which direction you want to take before ordering.
Boost Controller is now available. Boost Controller is an add on program option that allows you to raise or lower the boost past our 20psi default level. By hooking up a laptop or PC to your S4 via a Ross-Tech cable, you can raise boost to 22+ psi max in almost infinite increments via a GIAC's Boost Controller computer program. You can also lower the boost to less than 10 psi if you feel the need (handing the car to the wife, maybe?). This boost control feature is unprecedented in the way that it can go higher than default, yet please note that we do not recommend boost in excess of 20psi at redline on K04s for longevity reasons. While we are excited to offer this tuning flexibility to the S4 community, please note that you are raising boost at your own risk of turbo and engine damage, and all warranties on hardware are voided if you do so.

MPG calibration has been fixed. When using a stock airbox, our MAF, and our injectors, instrument cluster MPG reading is now realistic for actual fuel consumption and miles left to empty. Due to our very large MAF, this took some time to dial in and appears to be on target.
Best of all, we are running a Celebration Sale on our fueling kits in conjunction with this software release!
And furthermore, Boost Controller is available for FREE for a limited time (a $100 value) for all new fueling kit purchases AND for all past original owners of our kit. This is to thank you for your patience while we handled the next evolution of this kit.
<b>IMPORTANT note for current owners of our fueling kit:</b>
If you are currently running a GIAC socket in your ECU, conversion to the new flash format needs to be handled directly by GIAC. DO NOT send your ECU to us for upgrading. Please see this url on how to handle your socket to flash conversion request with GIAC: http://giacusa.com/returnsnupgrades.php
If you are currently running a flash format software program, updates can be handled by us directly.

Do we still limit boost to no more than 20psi like in the previous file? Yes.
However, with the Boost Controller feature, you can shift the entire curve upwards if you desire, resulting in 22+ psi at redline.
Do we recommend producing that much boost on K04s? No, we do not. However, the extreme users out there can tweak easily and electronically now if they wish to push their turbos that hard.

optimal power and acceleration numbers aren't improved.
However, if you want to push your turbos harder by increasing the boost with the GIAC Boost Controller feature, you will see significant improvements in power and acceleration.
You'll just do it at your own risk!

waterfest were noticing some increased performance, or at lease smoothness? Maybe it was the placebo effect.

(assuming no boost controller option).
Still look like this?
