Default New battery, Now RNS-E problems wtf?

So my battery died. Well it didnt so much as die as completely and totally degrade. My last reading on the battery was 2.03 volts. Yeap it was dead.

Bought a new battery and put it in. Now my RNS-E wont go out of the security code mode. No matter how many times I enter the correct code it asks for it again.

Any ideas on whats causing it? Im at a loss.

Default yes.

i recently had the same problem however with RNS-D.

you must let it come out of the safe block. then unplug it completely from the car. let it die out... then plug it in and itll allow you to enter the code.

it was odd, because my battery died, and then i did a cluster swap and i couldnt get it going again even with the appropriate code entered... i thought it was the cluster removed it replaced with original and it didnt work still so then i wound up removing it entirely etc...

if you do a search, youll see my threads... from not too far back.

Default um...

My rns-e wont go out of safety lock.

I turn on the ignition and the code enter screen comes up.

I enter my code, then the screen reappears. this seems to happen indefinitely.

same problem as you had?

Default the problem i had was.

entering the correct code wouldnt get me past safe screen.

but if you enter it in three times it locks you out.

i mean get out of the lock out mode, so youre able to enter the code again, but unplug before you do.

Default different problem then

I can enter in the correct code indefinitely.

I wont get locked out even if I enter it 10 times in a row.

It seems to be accepting the code then restarting.

Its very odd.

Any other ideas.

It was working fine, All i did was switch the battery.

Default i suggest doing the same thing...

just completely unplug it so the power dies... basically a hard restart.

if that doesnt work im not sure i have any other suggestions.

Default I've seen this problem before. It has to do with the can-gate somehow.

I would turn your car to the on position but not have the car running and enter the code, and see if it works. Also, you could try unplugging your inst. cluster and doing the same thing with the key in the "on" position. When it reboots, turn the car off and unplug it for a bit and see if you can let all the jucie drain, then make sure you have a good battery and re-install.

Its some weird fluke with the can lines and loss of power me thinks. I've seen it more than once, you just have to fiddle with it.

Default

When I had mine installed it took about an hour before the code would take.
