Default Not positive what this "sandblaster" sound is, but I had a loud sound from my engine compartment...

under WOT after I chipped my car. Didn't think too much about it at first, but the sandblaster posts did cross my mind. I also noticed some hesitation at top under WOT and the CEL turned on. Then the brakes went hard in the morning with no vacuum assist. I found a broken brake vacuum line that was connected to a tee with a couple check valves. Higher manifold boost blew this apart and air was shooting out of this under boost making a sound that you'd expect from this situation. I glued it back together and the "sand blaster" sound was gone. Top end boost was restored, and my brakes worked in the morning. Go figure.

This is actually a very dangerous situation and I've since replaced the part with a new one. Took the Audi service rep forever to find the part. I'd recommend that everyone check this part every once in a while. You have to tug on it a little bit because vacuum holds it together while idling, but it could be broken. It then will open up under boost.

Default I def get an aggressive rush of air sound- ->

but it isn't the sandblaster sound. It's just an intoxicating mix of intake, exhaust rush and internal noise..
