A new flywheel necessary with new clutch?
It looks like I may have done something to my throwout bearing so I've decided that I'm going to order an RS4 clutch.
I'm not the type of driver who slips the clutch much when driving. Should I get a new flywheel too? I would rather keep the $700 in my pocket unless it's going to mean that I'm going to have to get a new flywheel later on before a new clutch.

i would imagine your mileage is pretty high....
so i would venture to say it might not be a bad idea to go with a new flywheel. however, it really depend s on the condition of your current one which you might not know until you start the work. give me a call when you have a chance and i can give you a few options. i should be able to help you out on the clutch, and if you are interested, i have my original flywheel which is in very good shape.

Find out if the stock flywheel is "allowed" to be resurfaced...
I had my 911's flywheel turned when I replaced the clutch, even though it was "not allowed". Local shop did a great job, and the clean, freshly machined surface supposedly is much better for bedding in a new friction plate.
