I'm about to order a set of Potenza S03's and was wondering if I should order the same size (225 45 17) or if there are any advantages to stepping up to something a little bigger (235 45 17)?
Thanks

According to Luke at tire rack, each manufacturer has a slightly different shoulder shape - which has an impact on rub. For example, based on the tire link, I will be putting Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires that are 235/45/17 on my stock Avus rims. According to Luke there is no tire rub issue, and based on the calculator I will be doing approximately 62mph when indicating 60. HTat also means I would not indicate many as miles on the car for the actual amount driven. When I can afford them I will probably put some other 235/40/18 on S8 rims as a summer tire.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html</a
