Okay, ive had some toys sitting around, and I finally over the past month put all these in.
First the Coilovers, I did the install myself, and wasnt too dificult, the hardest part was pulling the little plastic covers off of the nuts in the top of the engine bay, wow that was the LARGEST pain in the a##, other than that, no issues. BTW spring compressors when turning by hand (the cheapo hand clamp ones) take forever to compress, and the stock springs need to be compressed A LOT!
Okay, these coilovers ROCK, i was a little surprized as to how soft they were, it took me a while to get the rideheight perfect on all corners, but with 170 pounds in the drivers seat, ive got all four sitting at 25"... I think the best description is this the way the car should have come from the factory, not much comfort difference, but there is almost no body roll. It's nice to see a huge improvement in handling without sacrificing the ability to take a 10+ hour roadtrip without needing backsurgery. The car seems dialed in really well (not my opinion, as I dont track, but a friend whos got a WRX STI, a supra, and a S2000 tells me it feels damn agile on the road)
Secondly, the DTS, why didnt I get this thing on there sooner. Since I've installed the spec 2 clutch, my car grabs harder and harder (I think its gone crazy, because it really is like a lightswitch, I think I got a freak of a clutch). In being so abrubt, my drivetrain would bounce around like a rubber band when engaging first, you'd feel it load one way, then load the other, and eventually stop as I pull away from the light (and yes I know how to drive stick :P) Also shifting to second gear would cause some rubberbanding as well, as alot of you know, well, 90% of it is GONE. First feels incredibly crisp, and shifting into second relatively quick doesnt send the car bouncing around anymore (even revmatching didnt help too much before, as the change in load would still cause the rubberbanding) Downshifting is tremendously improved, pop the throttle, go a gear lower, and no banding! It almost feels like a automatic to passengers now the difference is so pronounced. Friends who have drivin with me quite a bit notice a huge improvement, and these are people who arent in my car every day, WELL worth the money.
Lastly, Milltek superdual! I was very notorious in picking out exhaust, as I didnt want something loud, and flashy, and I also really approved of the tip style. I was worried about fitment and the exhaust running close to the evap line, but eventually decided on the superdual. So i pull off the stock exhaust, and get down there and start looking around, well, my evap line already had aftermarket insulation on it! woohoo! one problem solved, now fitment. Fitment was not a problem, as I was very careful to make sure each peice starting from the cats was fully in place and pushed on all the way, then the entire exhaust was inplace I bolted down the clamps when it was adjusted right. Fit perfect, tips stick out about `1.5" further than stock, and it looked great!
It was a lot quieter than I expected, but still loud enough. It isnt loud unless you want it to be, and I love the deep tone of the exhaust pulses. Zero droning, unique and quiet, but still devilish. Also it has a very mildburble when you lift on the throttle, you cant hear it unless your listening for it, but the deep burble just screams 'stealth power', excatly what i was looking for.
Sorry for the long post, and i know TPIWWP, but I'll get them uploaded eventually! Now if AWE's boostgauge wasnt on backorder I could actually see whats going on with my boost... sigh
If you made it this far! awesome! hopefully somebody will find it usefull... weeeeeeee!
