Default You are correct! Tips are by no means slow.

You never miss a gear! I don't know how many times I have heard that from other drivers, including manual S4s.

Default I think he's got a shop developing one that he'll sell through Avalon...

I spoke with him on Thurs and he mentioned it's on the works. And you're correct, he sold his tip and got a Slowgaro 6-sp.

Default Dave, I understand the problem you are talking about,

it's not the car so much but the chip tuner, My car used to have 'some" hunting, but with time it went away, now it runs very smoothly. I have a nice combo of GIAC 1.0bar chip and TipChip. Tip on a stock S4 does help, it reduces the shift TImes as well as helps the tranny ecu "think" faster. I am selling my car, shoot me an email if you are interested. I am in N.VA.

Default The trouble here is that "slow" is relative to your expectations. (m)

From my own point of view, the stock gear shifts on an S4 tip (either in manual or drive) are not slow. Although I got a giac tip chip before an ecu chip, the difference was minimal. I wouldn't think it's worth the money without the ecu chip.

But if you do get it, you can always tell your friends your car has "superbike shifting". :P

i think I'm being to realize that. manually shifting the tip, well, let's just say that the 2002 BMW M3 coupe in front of me yesterday got knocked down a peg or two, and ended up having to pass me on the shoulder (those crazy BMW drivers :-)

Do you think that having it in conjunction with the ecu chip made it worthwhile? Which ecu did you pick up?
