Default well at the very least you would have a hole in your door but still have a car.....

which depending on how you look at it is better than no car at all. I doubt theives will be carrying aroung every model box...but I wouldn't put it past them.

Default a remote control that you have to carry around, vs using a device already in the car

I guess I don't understand, but again I don't own a palm or web enabled phone either.. My computer stores enough information for me and it's always there when I need it, don't need to remember to bring it with me.. Just don't understand the comment I guess.

Default

So does this create another program slot or are we still at 4?

Default $199 for what?

What does it actually do? Use the EMCS lock feature (already there) to lock the ECU into an empty slot?

For $199!?

Does it do anything more than that?

Default well, you could always store OTHER people's software on an empty

slot in their EMCS module....i'm sure that'd be doable, but i'm sure other tuners wouldn'twant you putting their software on APR's hardware....hehe.

Default Presumably it would be trivial to do with GIAC's switching mechanism...

If it ever comes out...

Default

And whatever it costs to fix an intermittent c/c switch . . . that would suck . . .

Default i'm convinced that for the gernal public....its

sadly vaporware. its been at least a year since the first few IBE modules were sent out to beta testing customers...

Default what part did you fail to understand? an honest opinion from someone who has used both?

the remote is smaller than your key fob...

i don't have a problem carrying my keys around...

pushing a button as i leave my car is easier
than playing with a windshield stalk

and trying to count the seconds between an engine light
flashing to figure out what program i'm running is just annoying...

just my honest opinion after using both.

I like GIAC's IBE system better, that's all.

but like i said... kudos to APR, this is an
awesome addition to their EMCS program... and
something I'm sure many people will be interested
in for peace of mind.

Once you have spent enough time and money into
your car where it can't realistically be reproduced,
having that car stolen is worse than a simple dilemma...
it's an absolute catastrophy...
there's a reason i try not to let my car leave my sight...
not even if it's immobilized.
