Still at 4 program slots, this is a feature, not a program.

Default Valid points.. Although one piece of the pie that was not specified

The blinky blink appears to be fixed. Well on my M box so I don't have to count seconds. It was frustrating, I understand where you are coming from. But now that the blinky blink is fixed + the security feature it's a really nice setup..

I understand the fob/key ring thing as well... but again that does not offer security just changing programs. and if you lose your keys (understand not leaving your car out of site nor your keys), but with the EMCS I can switch programs, unlock lock the security feature without my main key, with just my valet. That's kind of a nice feature..

Also you have in fact spent more $$ on your ride then I...

I appreciate your opinion and didn't mean to start any trouble

Default not having to rip your car apart for an antitheft device?

seems reasonable compared to a lot of other options out there. $200 to protect a $40,000 car.

Default I know that is doable (it has been done), but according to APR, the security feature is

no stored in an EMCS slot.

Anything is doable, it's just a matter of how much $ you want to spend.

Default Milpitas is a good guy. Just because he tried the emcs and liked it doesn't

make him a tuner *****. On a side note, I find it odd that APR told me 3 months ago that they will NOT offer this feature. Still waiting for the ibe chipswitch, whenever that may be.

Default actually... GIAC's IBE does offer security. One of the standard features is an immobilizer program.

also keeps the actual stock chip (therefore stock, not emulated)
program on the ECU board.

aside from that, you can add two other programs...
most common choices will probably be a 100 octane
race program and a pump gas program.

I believe IBE gen 2 will add 3 program choices.

I'd like a valet program or a NO boost program...
that would be nice.

last time i used the apr emcs was on a tip 2001
that was chipped in August... dunno if anything
changed yet...
even if it didn't, emcs is nice.

i'd be screwed if i lost my keys... though that
isn't likely to happen with me -- but i can
see it happen to others all too easily.

although, even if i did lose my keys... i keep
a spare ecu - and i could get another remote by
calling my GIAC dealer.
=)

and it's not the money i spent on my car that
i care about... the insurance company can give that
back to me... but they can't reimburse me for my time.

i was just offering my honest opinion is all...

either way, we are all better off as enthusiasts
with more choices than we had before for switchable
security programs.

yes, i will second that. Tory is far from a tuner *****...

i also asked APR for this feature one 2 separate occassions in the last year....both times they essentially said there was no market for something like this. ;-)
