Next gen S6 sounds interesting. Twin turbo V8 with 400 HP and aluminum spaceframe chassis.

Due out in 18 mon. according to Autoexpress Newsletter. May be where I invest my pennies if it comes over. Probably a better chance of seeing the S6 here than the RS6.

Are you saying the S6 that's coming the following year will have a twin turbo V8? If that's the case, I know what my next is going to be.

Until we see the finished product next year, I think it's all just speculation. I'm not sure which vehicle Audi Dudey is talking about. Taner had a point. He might be confusing the two. The RS6 is configured differently than the S6. I know(as do the majority of folks I assume), for sure this year's U.S. release in the S6 is the NA 4.2, detuned from the S8's engine by intake and exhaust differences. I think that Audi is trying to stay ahead of BMW in the wagon dept., and the 4.2, although a solid powerplant, is due for a tweak. I have heard rumors of turbocharging next year, but the numbers are not likely to meet those of the RS6. So Audi Dudey's comments on the next gen. S6 seemed credible, assuming he was referring to next year's release, and not this year's...Just my .02:^)

seems a little odd...
RS6 seems quite a bit more reasonable..
then again... like you said... it's all speculation at this point ;-)

with the S6 possibly having the twin turbo V8. It is still being developed and up in the air. 18 months would make it a 2004 model year with the S car probably released much later.
