This information comes from the lates issue of CAR magazine from the UK. The main topic of the article is on the problems Audi designers are facing getting the management to sign off on the design of the next generation A8. Because of these delays, the new A8 will not hit the showrooms before mid-2002. The current 3.7 and 4.2 engines with 260 hp and 310 hp, respectively, will carry on, and a new W12 engine with 400+ hp will be the flagship.

The article goes on to talk about the new A4 which is slated to debut this coming November. They say the Avant will come out in June 2001 and the new S4 will likely come out in 2002. Engine choices on the A4 will remain the same, except that the 2.8 V6 will become a 210-hp 3.0 V6. The only word on the new S4 is that it gets a power boost to 300 hp with the same 2.7 liter displacement.
