Default no boost, no leaks...no whine

i'm stumped a bit on this after days of testing and diagnosing. thought i'd turn to AW for a bit of collective insight, even if is pointing out i stupidly overlooked something I'll live :-)

had an f-hose failure that got the car garaged and torn into. Did an f-hose bypass, removing line to the rear spider and capping it there and in the front just connecting the manifold to the hardlines without heading back to the spider. after wrapping that up i pressure tested several times and fixed some various leaks: intercooler hose clamp on passenger side, intercooler endtank on driver side. at this point there's not a single leak. However i was surprised to be pressurizing my crankcase so much (PCV removed and ypipe side capped during testing. Definitely had to keep the oil cap off, but even still sound of bubbling oil was constant. (i should probably do a leakdown test just to make sure all 6 rings are still there...)

none the less, i wrapped up every leak until not a one. got the fuelrail back on, lines tightened down, and everything back together and started it up. idle'd smooth and fine, no misfire. only thing was a high rev on turnover that made a noise i'd rather not hear but quickly dropped into a perfect smooth idle. let it warm up, it blew out some of the oil that had dripped past while testing but nothing that really stood out as worrisome.

took the car out once warmed up, under no boost, again ran through the revs smooth and fine. under boost however it just stumbles and ****s itself. However, no whine; no turbo lady visit. just like someone cut the power off. i've had K03s fail on me before and the symptoms are just quite different. part of me is hoping this isn't another turbo failure, though that might be false optimism. based on certain observations though i'm wondering if it might stand out as being something different to one of you.

thanks

Hmm, seems we've been getting a lot of these types of posts lately, does is "stumble" as you accelerate?

I hate to sound simple, but have you checked plugs, amps or coils?

Hmm... but I'm assuming you've got no CEL, so that's a low probability...

I wish I was more certain of the symptoms, could it be DVs?

I'll be tracking this, because I'm curious, keep us posted.

Im having the same.

I was boosting up a hill and I heard what I thought was a hose popping off.
Now the car makes no boost, and falls on its face if I try to go WOT.
I have the larger injectors from the AWE fuel kit so I assume that makes it worse. I smell unburnt fuel. I have yet to find a leak.

Sounds like a boost leak somewhere. What codes are you getting and what is your vacuum at idle?

Just back from a very frusterating day at the shop.
I believe Im in the correct place to vent.

Todays mission, Install:
Adjustable Koni Shocks
JHM Front rotors
Powerslot rear rotors
Hawk HPS pads
Fix boost leak

Results:
1. Shop installs koni's at default setting, saying they
cant adjust them. According to install guide, they were
correct. I called Koni, and they explained a different
way to adjust them. They are adequate at this setting
but stiff by no means.
2. JHM ships incorrect rotor, and shop cant install.
I will have to return them, be credited and order them
again.
3. Yea ! rotor installed
4. rear pads installed !
5. drivers side turbo dead. Which makes sence b/c I had
installed the GIAC chip and AWE fueling almost two
full weeks ago.

Now am looking for a set of RS4 turbos, and a clutch that will hold. Suggestions?
