Hurray, was just told that my new car arrives in 4 weeks. Ordered an IS350 as an interim car until they work the inevitable newness bugs out of the IS-F, then I'll give it to my daughter and get an Is-F. IMO as a former engineering professor, AUDI couldn't build a toilet that works. Audi doesn't care about their customers at all and it shows. Everything is always our fault, not theirs. Their service departments, see Rockville PA, are also incompetent. They changed my front brakes under the maintenance contract and never inspected the rear brakes (which were also below the limit). The parts they use on the S4 are of dubious poor quality WITH no margin of safety, SEE k03 turbos, control arms, washer tank, radiator tank and aux water pump, manual trans, misfires (that they threw parts at), etc. Great concept, but really bad engineering: total junk. The only time the S-4 ever beat it's main competitor, the M-3 was briefly in 2000. It's never done it again. When the IS-F comes out Audi will be 5th rate again, even behind Subaru and Nissan. This car is the worse POS I've ever owned, that I bought new and I've owned some real junk: 68 camaro SS396 SS convertible that started to fall apart on the way home from the dealer, a 70 fiat 124 spyder, a 75 Alfa Spyder and 3rd gen 93 RX-7 to name a few. I will be able to buy after market performance equipment directly from Lexus and keep my warranty intact. Wow, what a concept, just like Audi Huh? What's my POS worth a 01.5 (April 01 delivery) an 02 except for title, with new German trans, 50K miles, Mobil 1 every 5K, Santorin Blue, with cold weather, Lux pkg, moonroof, and Bose. If there were good durable after market replacement parts, it'd be a good car to mod. I will never buy another Audi or VW, Only japanese from now on.
