Noobie O 2 CEL fault code and more...................
<center><img src="http://www.quattro123.com/A4%20Oil/S4%20B5/MVC-126Acompario.jpg"></center><p>I usually post on the 200 forum.
I have a buddy with a B5 2001 S4 with this fault code which came and went.
Vag-Com gave me this code which means something in the Bentley book.
Does anyone know what it means?
ALSO: What is the "EPC" on his tach mean?
TIA!

Block three we figured out was the RPM / 10 like most other VAG ECU readings........... the others I don't know about.
Since I don't have that car, I don't have a Bentley for it.
Any clues to what the other 9 measuring blocks are?

The O2 code says your O2 internal heater is dying on the drivers rear sensor. May actually be the heater; may be a bad connection (check the connector on the firewall).
EPC is throttle by wire. It means Electronic Power Control.

on second thought, i may be confusing with another O2 code, but I am pretty sure that is the same
code I have because I have no cats in my car, and my rear O2's are not in the downpipes right now...

internal resistance too high is a faultly post cat 02 sensor, or poor connection to the harness.
its a non critical component that will not affect performance in the least.
ignore it until it goes away or gets bad enough to trip the dummy light all the time.

Re: Noobie O 2 CEL fault code and more...................
The CEL come on in HOT weather in traffic. HAs since gone OUT.
I reset codes by Vag-com just in case.
Thanks for the info!
I also found an explaination of the EPC here:
http://www.s4-mtm.com/images/Audi_S4_engine_english.pdf
EPC stands for Electronic Power Control.
Page 43 of 72, I suspect when you pressed the gas pedal the light came on with the engine not running........................
