my buddy is going to hopefully weld it up tomorrow AM so I can get back on the road....
hopefully I didnt damage the car.. I shut it off at and started it back up to get it through an intersection... it shutterd a little but no weird noises...
the oil slick under the car after I parked it is a good sign..
will find out tomorrow

i mean not that you dont knwo that, but just to make sure. and good luck welding it, afaik it is cast and it is gonna suck. might be better off brazing it..............
and either way, i think you should patch it, not just weld the crack. good luck

my buddy is confident he can fix it.. we will see..
I had another friend wreck a oil pan and he said they arent that expensive... the timing just sucks..

It's aluminum...odds are you friend doesn't have aluminum welding equipment. And even if he does, you're taking the chance that his repair job holds. If it doesn't, you'll be left stranded at the least, and may grenade your motor at the worst. The pan is easy enough to replace that it's not worth screwing around with a repair.
