my car was sitting in the rain for 6 days at the airport (i know, i know), and when I came back I noticed a damp smell. under the driver's floormat was a puddle of water. somehow it had leaked in.
has this happened to anyone? if so, where could this leak be coming from? (door bottom? door hinge? wheel well? other?) i really couldn't tell by looking, so thanks to anyone who can help.
happy new year guys! thanks

water could come through in a few places.
Other than that:
Windshield leak
Sunroof drains plugged - head liner should be wet in this case.
Or your window was down slightly.
My Thoughts

Had this problem on my A4. I noticed water pooling underneath the battery. So, remove the battery, remove the tray and you'll find a single drain hole (1"-1.5" diameter) right under the battery tray. Mine was nicely stopped up with leaves, which might've attributed to the water I found on the passenger floorboard. Good luck.
