Default OEM CD Player won't read burnt CDs?

Seems to work OK with normal CDs, but CDs I made on my new burner just get an ERR1.

These burnt CDs work fine on every other player I've tried, even my wife's 2001 A4. Asked the dealer about it and they said that was a common problem with VW/Audi and offered me no solution. He said my wife was "lucky" that hers happens to work.

Seems ridiculous to have a "premium" Bose system that can't read a simple CD.

Any other experiences?

Default CD-R's are not a simple cd really but I can play any CD-R out of my studio with no

problems. I do get a very strange noise out of the right channel thast very quiet in the mix. Not sure why that is. The bose system is definitely a little whacky

Default I got similar problem

The CD's play, but most of the time it cannot find the next song and starts playing in the middle of another song.

I dont get the ERR1, just seems to not be able to locate beginnings of songs. But like you, the CD's play in every other player but my car, even my GF's '99 avant plays them fine.

I think I am just going to keep trying diff CDR's till I find one that will work properly in my car, hopefully.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1425103.phtml</a

Mine works fine. Try a different sort of blanks.

Default Have OEM cd changer (w/o BOSE) .. it reads burnt cd's just fine (Verbatim, TDK, Memorex, Imation)...

They work fine in the head unit also. Perhaps it's just the brand you're using. Try different brands of discs.

Default You are in deep ****!

The dealer hinted his wife getting lucky and you've just admitted to rocking to CDRs which by a strange coincindent her A4 plays perfectly well!

Keep your skydiving @ss away from my wife's A4! <g>
