Oil Change: took one for the team...

switched to pentosynth 5w40.. mobil 1 wasnt avialable at the wally world.. well it was but they only had 1 bottle.
anyone else have a 10k oil analysys? if so whats the good bad ugly...

No worries. I've been getting solid Blackstone reports on high mileage intervals.
I'm approaching the end of my current 9k interval and will post the results when I have them. In the meantime, if you want to see my previous ones, just search "kenobi oil analysis" or "kenobi blackstone" and you should find them. I think the last one was for 7500.

Did this include track mileage too? Very interested to read those
As BMW only gives me one change every 15,000 miles with their special $10/litre oil. I'd change it more often, but it's >$100 in oil and filter even doing it myself!

You betcha. Plenty of track time included there. Read my posts.
I mention the mileage and track days on each interval. I really don't think that it's a problem with good synthetic.

I have a 9000mile change interval analysis from Blackstone on Mobil 1 0W40 - it was fine............
That being said, I'm using 5000 mile intervals because it's a much easier # to remember.
I was just curious how the oil would hold up.
The report was fine and indicated I could actually go longer.

9000 is fine, but you're going with 5000 to remember it easily?
Just ask them for the reminder stickers to place on your windshield. You can write the interval mileage on there and always know how far away you are!
Hell, if anything, why not use 10k if you want to remember it easily?

I know, I know, I've been lazy....need to start doing that! Not that I think something bad would...
happen if I started using 10,000 mile intervals, but, I'm not doing it until I get a 10,000 mile analysis that says everything is OK.
Actually, I think the mileage on that 9000 mile anaylsis was 8957 - You've motivated me now! I'm doing oil changes every 8957 miles from now on
