Has anyone snipped off the original washer and used replacement washers (like the ones you can buy from Clair Parts)? I continue to have problems with the washer that comes on the drain plug. Damn thing still leaks and this one is new.

So I've been using the regular ones frrm clairs with no problems. If I could see a pic of yours maybe I could tell if the ones from clairs work.

Yeah I'm sure you can reuse it, but it's cheap insurance against any leaks.

on my MY2001 S4. It started leaking after the 5k oil change. The technician removed it and now I use the standard copper drain plug washer.
